About Kris

I never planned on becoming a Piano Technician.
Back in the early 1980s I was deep into guitar repair and sound design. A good friend of mine — someone I'd known since childhood — was working at a piano store and needed some help. He suggested I try my hand at piano tuning, and something about it just clicked.
I went on to study the craft formally, and was fortunate to have an exceptional teacher who made sure I learned it the right way. I earned two formal degrees — one in Piano Tuning & Repair, and one in Rebuilding and Restoration — credentials that still guide my work to this day.
By 1987, it had become my full-time profession — and it has been ever since. Decades of daily, hands-on work, and I've never looked back. More than anything, I just love the craft itself — and the joy of helping musicians at any level find their voice with the piano.
I've had the honor of serving homeowners, churches and institutions across Southeastern Wisconsin, and that trust means the world to me. There's nothing quite like still doing work you love after all these years, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
